Project Description

Combilift has grown to become the acknowledged global leader in the long-load handling market. More than 28,000 units have been sold and Combilift products can be found in over 75 countries. The company’s growth is supported by an international network of distributors in ever expanding markets around the world. Combilifts’ new €40m Global Headquarters will see production dou-ble in the next 5 years, creating 200 new jobs.

The Challenge

Lighting was high on the agenda during the design phase of the new factory. The maximum area of rooflighting was specified to maxim-ise natural light, and provide a pleasant working environment. The bright, naturally lit interior reduces the requirement for artificial lighting, availing of the free, unlimited natural resource, and sub-stantially reducing running costs.
Design for the external areas took account for the adjacent road-ways with focus on eliminating light spill and pollution

The Solution

Internal: Factory areas were treated with the Nualight Arc luminaires, with on board Wattstopper sensors. The sensors automatically ad-just for the high levels of daylight, and have 3 dimming settings de-pending of occupancy and activity.
External: Cree solutions were deployed for all external areas, deliver-ing class-leading performance, with minimal light spillage, glare or light pollution. Cree’s patented NanoOptic refractor technology ensures optimised target illumination performance.
